Christmas and New Year greeting with children

An original postally used paper object from the collection, catalogued as picture postcard. Front: Vertical illustrated greeting card with two children and ornamental decoration; text “Ein frohes Weihnachtsfest und ein gutes neues Jahr”, series 926. Reverse: Postally used with a German 50-pfennig stamp and HAMBURG cancel of 18 December; the year is partly indistinct. The catalogue dating is “c. 1978–1980”, and the country/postal area is recorded as “Federal Republic of Germany”. Condition is typical of a genuinely travelled postcard: normal handling traces, light rounding or wear at the edges, minor surface marks and handwritten/postal matter are present, while the object remains complete and its principal printed design, stamp and cancellation survive. Both sides were scanned directly. The catalogue images retain every visible edge without retouching or artificial restoration. The description deliberately separates firmly legible evidence from dates or cancellations that are only partly readable.
