Reply cover for a Verlag DAS BESTE promotion

An original postal-history paper object from the collection, catalogued as a advertising reply cover. Blue advertising reply cover for obtaining a “GRATISBUCH-AUSWEIS” from Verlag DAS BESTE GmbH, Stuttgart. It bears two matching 40-pfennig EG stamps and is marked “Antwort-Drucksache”; the reverse contains instructions and a reservation deadline of 19 July 1982. The catalogue dating is “1982”, the country or postal area is “Federal Republic of Germany”, and the visible franking or postal charge is recorded as “2 × 40 Pf = 80 Pf”. Condition is typical of genuinely transported and opened correspondence: folds, light soiling, edge wear and small opening tears may be present and have not been concealed. Front and back were scanned directly with all visible edges retained, without retouching or artificial restoration. Details that cannot be read securely from the scan are deliberately identified as approximate rather than asserted as certain.
