Cover to Hamburg with 110-pfennig mixed franking

An original postal-history paper object from the collection, catalogued as a mixed-franking postal cover. Domestic cover to Irma Glass in Hamburg-Jenfeld. The franking combines a 40-pfennig architectural or exhibition subject with the 70-pfennig Thomas Mann (1875–1955) commemorative; both are tied by a clear circular cancellation. The catalogue dating is “c. 1975”, the country or postal area is “Federal Republic of Germany”, and the visible franking or postal charge is recorded as “40 Pf + 70 Pf = 110 Pf”. Condition is typical of genuinely transported and opened correspondence: folds, light soiling, edge wear and small opening tears may be present and have not been concealed. Front and back were scanned directly with all visible edges retained, without retouching or artificial restoration. Details that cannot be read securely from the scan are deliberately identified as approximate rather than asserted as certain.
