SOS Children’s Villages fundraising cover

An original postal-history paper object from the collection, catalogued as a charity fundraising cover. Illustrated fundraising cover of Hermann-Gmeiner-Fonds / SOS Children’s Villages with an angel motif and the slogan “Über 220 SOS-Kinderdörfer brauchen viele Freunde!”. Postage is shown as paid at post office 8000 München 4, without an adhesive stamp; the reverse contains organisational information. The catalogue dating is “c. 1980s”, the country or postal area is “Federal Republic of Germany”, and the visible franking or postal charge is recorded as “Gebühr bezahlt”. Condition is typical of genuinely transported and opened correspondence: folds, light soiling, edge wear and small opening tears may be present and have not been concealed. Front and back were scanned directly with all visible edges retained, without retouching or artificial restoration. Details that cannot be read securely from the scan are deliberately identified as approximate rather than asserted as certain.
