Stendal cover with Karl-Marx-Stadt stamp and machine slogan

An original postal-history paper object from the collection, catalogued as a commercial postal cover. Letter from A. Glass in Stendal to the E. Glass family in Hamburg with a single 35-pfennig “Karl-Marx-Stadt” stamp. The slogan “rationell zahlen – Versicherung abbuchen lassen” partly crosses the address area; front and back survive as one complete postal object. The catalogue dating is “1983”, the country or postal area is “German Democratic Republic”, and the visible franking or postal charge is recorded as “35 Pfennig”. Condition is typical of genuinely transported and opened correspondence: folds, light soiling, edge wear and small opening tears may be present and have not been concealed. Front and back were scanned directly with all visible edges retained, without retouching or artificial restoration. Details that cannot be read securely from the scan are deliberately identified as approximate rather than asserted as certain.
