GDR cover with 35-pfennig Karl-Marx-Stadt stamp

An original postal-history paper object from the collection, catalogued as a commercial postal cover. Light-blue cover to Erwin Glass with a single 35-pfennig “Karl-Marx-Stadt” stamp showing a bust of Karl Marx and modern urban architecture. The machine cancellation carries the slogan “rationell zahlen – Versicherung abbuchen lassen”; the reverse identifies a sender in Stendal. The catalogue dating is “1983”, the country or postal area is “German Democratic Republic”, and the visible franking or postal charge is recorded as “35 Pfennig”. Condition is typical of genuinely transported and opened correspondence: folds, light soiling, edge wear and small opening tears may be present and have not been concealed. Front and back were scanned directly with all visible edges retained, without retouching or artificial restoration. Details that cannot be read securely from the scan are deliberately identified as approximate rather than asserted as certain.
